The Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan today met with Vice President of Italian Stoneware Corporation Federico Polidori and General Manager of Multi Group Concern Sedrak Arustamyan. Italian Ambassador in Armenia Vincenzo del Monaco accompanied the businessmen.
The businessmen informed the Minister that they are going to set up production of ceramic raw materials from the Italian "Ceramica" brand in Armenia. According to Federico Polidori, the workshop will have 150 jobs with salary higher than average. Vice President of Italian Stoneware Company noted that despite the fact that when making a decision other countries in the region were considered, they chose Armenia because of the efforts of the Multi Group. Thus, production of labeled dishes "Designed in Italy, Made in Armenia" will start in Armenia. Federico Polidori noted that Armenia has a rich and interesting history, which is also an advantage to establish such a production here.
The Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan thanked for the initiative, noting that the organization of such production not only has economic benefits but also brings new business culture, experience and knowledge to Armenia. Tigran Khachatryan assured the investors that he is ready to assist in the solution of problems arising during the implementation of the project. The Minister discussed a number of investment issues with the company's representatives, including the privileges provided by the Armenian government. Some issues related to the import of raw materials and equipment have also been discussed.
