On October 4, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia Suren Karayan received the Chairman of Poultry Breeders Association Sergey Stepanyan.

Issues related to the sector have been discussed.

The Minister Karayan spoke about competitiveness problem of the sector and mentioned that the sector has great development potential.

Sergey Stepanyan represented the main issues for which the support of the Government is expected. Issues on the import and export of poultry, feed providing, feed VAT levied at the border, etc. have been discussed during the meeting. The businessman stressed the importance of cooperation between Government and private sector.

Suren Karayan mentioned, that the Ministry is ready to find solution to the problems the sector faces. The Minister gave instruction to corresponding subdivisions to study the project represented by the Chairman of Poultry Breeders Association and find solutions to the raised problems.

At the end of the meeting, the sides decided to organize monthly meetings with the representatives of the sector.
