On October 17, the event “International forum on light industry, exhibition, fashion days” launched at “Yerevan Expo Center”.

The First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia Garegin Melkonyan attended the official opening ceremony and delivered welcoming speech.

“This unique project which is being organized for the first time in Armenia, will have a significant role to introduce the potential of light industry of Armenia and will help the Armenian businessmen to achieve new international platforms. I am hopeful that this event will increase the recognition and demand of domestic products and the agreements reached here will turn into long-term and mutually beneficial economic cooperation,” said Garegin Melkonyan in his speech.

During the event the entire chain of light industry will be represented, from thread to cloth production, leather goods, hats, jewelry and accessories.

The goal of the event is to promote the development of light industry sector in Armenia, outline the prospects for regional cooperation, discover opportunities of accession of Armenian products to new markets, establish business relations and promote the exchange of experience.

Producers involved in light industry, customers, designers, representatives of other interested organizations from Armenia, Russia, Georgia, Belarus, India, Iran and some European countries participated in the event.

The organizers of the event are “Atex Fashion Center”, “Signum” Company and Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The project is supported by the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia, the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia and the Union of Light Industry Employers of Armenia.

The event will take place on October 18 and 19.
