A discussion on to the issues of tourism in Armenia was held

On November 16, a meeting discussion on Armenian tourism sector issues and development perspectives with the members of the Union of Incoming Tour Operators of Armenia was organized at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of the RA.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the RA Suren Karayan and Acting chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Zarmine Zeytuntsyan.

In his introductory speech, Minister Suren Karayan stated that the tourism sector is very important for the Government of Armenia, as it brings inclusiveness for the economic growth. The State Committee for Tourism was created for this purpose.

Suren Karayan noted that for the Ministry private and public sector relation is very important.

Introducing the acting chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Zarmine Zeytuntsyan, the Minister expressed hope that the participants of the meeting will discuss current issues of the sector, and find effective solutions of them by joint efforts.

The director of the Union of Incoming Tour Operators of Armenia Karine Davoyan expressed gratitude for the initiative. According to her, it is inspiring, that the voice of the representatives of the sector will be heard by the government.

Then the members of the Union of Incoming Tour Operators of Armenia presented the issues identified by them.

Minister Suren Karayan suggested holding meetings with the representatives of the tourism sector in monthly intervals, expecting presentation of revolutionary and interesting projects for the rapid development of the sector.

In her turn, Zarmine Zeytuntsyan said that she expects permanent, constructive and effective cooperation with all organizations and companies of the tourism sector.

“There are many gaps in the sector. There is no need to perform miracles to solve the problems",- said Zarmine Zeytuntsyan.
