The possibilities of deepening the Armenian-Iranian economic cooperation were discussed

On November 17, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the RA Suren Karayan met the delegation headed by Masoud Karbasian, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance and the Head of Islamic Republic of Iran’s Customs Administration (IRICA).

Minister Suren Karayan, welcoming the guests, noted that there are a number of issues the solution of which will create new opportunities for promoting economic cooperation between Armenia and Iran.

The Minister spoke about the importance of free economic zones. He highlighted the importance of common approaches and simplified customs procedures for uninterrupted transit.

Masoud Karbasian informed the Minister Karayan about the agreements obtained with the Head of the State revenue committee of the RA on cooperation in customs border, which will boost economic cooperation between two countries.

Masoud Karbasian said that Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union creates serious opportunities for export of Iranian goods, and in this regard Armenia is an important link.

The Head of Islamic Republic of Iran’s Customs Administration highly appreciated the efforts of the Armenian delegation during the EEU -Iran negotiations.

According to Karbasian investment growth is a priority for both countries and exchange of experience in this sector will be productive for Armenia and Iran.

Minister Suren Karayan expressed gratitude for the meeting and expressed hope that such meetings and agreements will contribute to the economic development of Armenia and Iran.

At the end of the meeting Suren Karayan presented to the guests Armphone, which, according to the guests, can be interesting for the Iranian consumers.
