On November 30, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the RA Suren Karayan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lebanese Republic to the Republic of Armenia H.E. Mr. Jean Makaron and the representatives of Lebanese community.

In his introductory speech the ambassador Jean Makaron welcomed the economic reforms of the Ministry, as well as an active image of the RA Government.

The ambassador presented the interests of Lebanese investors, particularly in following areas: production of coffee and confectionery, tourism, waste management, agriculture.

The ambassador of the Lebanese Republic informed the Minister that the Lebanese companies operating in Armenia create 3000-4000 workplaces. Jean Makaron added that he is interested in intensifying trade and economic cooperation between Lebanon and Armenia.

Minister Suren Karayan listened to the problems of the Lebanese investors, which mainly related to the tax and custom spheres.

During the meeting Minister Karayan instructed the Development Foundation of Armenia always be in touch with the Lebanese Community Council to be informed about current problems.

The Minister expressed confidence that the Ministry will do its best to make the Armenia's business environment most comfortable for Lebanese businessmen.

The Minister expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for the meeting and expressed hope that the Lebanese investment potential will be realized in Armenia in best way.
