On December 5, RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan received the representatives of the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ).

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia H.E. Mr. Matthias Kiesler presented to the Minister the representatives of the delegation, as well as the main directions of the organization's activities.

The Ambassador said that they attentively follow the policy of the new government and welcome its economic orientation, expressing readiness to support the sustainable economic development.

Marita Riedel, head of "Private sector development in the South Caucasus" project presented focuses of the projects for 2013-2016, one of which, for example, is to support the economic integration of the refugees from Syria.

Suren Karayan expressed gratitude for the meeting highly appreciating both the financial and technical support provided by the German government. The Minister suggested organizing several meetings for a detailed discussion of further plans.

The Deputy Minister Hovhannes Azizyan drew the attention of guests the idea of establishing an investment foundation, which will contribute to the development and implementation of new investment projects, defining the main directions of investments, which will boost the sector.

The Deputy Minister suggested the German International Cooperation Agency to get involved in this process and implement the activities by unified instrument.
