Minister Suren Karayan was presented the problems of light industry

On December 7, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the RA Suren Karayan met the representatives of light industry sector within the framework of public-private sector dialogue platforms (http://mineconomy.am/eng/591/free.html).

The co-chair of the light industry employers' association Hovsep Poghosyan noted that the representatives of the sector have serious expectations from the new government of Armenia, emphasizing that they hope to find ways to solve these problems through monthly meetings.

The participants of the meeting presented problems of shoemaking, textile industry, leather industry, etc. , which mainly relating to the issues of custom, credit, import of raw materials, training and retraining of personnel.

The Minister assured, that the Ministry, through the monitoring will seek to refund VAT in case of export by keeping deadlines prescribed by law.

Suren Karayan and the representatives of private sector also discussed issues related to the perspectives of public-private sector cooperation, training of personnel through educational center, opportunity to establish trading house abroad, etc.
