On December 12, the official opening ceremony of a new plant of Jermuk Group Company was held.
The ceremony was attended by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan in his speech said, that spring and mineral bottled water industry is one of the developing directions of Armenia's economy. He emphasized that the opening of the plant is an important event for the country's economy, which once again assure the existence of a favorable investment climate in Armenia. It is the best guarantee to establish production and have successful business.
Diversity of existing spring and mineral water resources, which have different taste and health value, as well as foreign market demand tendencies for these products, give us ground to indicate that the sector has great potential for development and access to new markets. The vivid evidence of that is the opening of this new plant, - said the Minister, adding that the state always ready to stand next to the active and diligent entrepreneurs.
The participants of the event toured the new plant, familiarized with the upgraded production lines, production capacities , as well as upcoming projects of Jermuk Group Company.
It should be noted, that the annual output of spring and mineral bottled water industry is about 12 billion drams and about 30% is exported. More than 1,200 people works in the industry.
Jermuk Group Company is the largest producer of mineral and spring water in Armenia. Due to continuous major investments and ongoing developments, the company manages to keep its leading market position.
Launching the new plant Jermuk Group Company expands its activity. The Company has implemented an investment project of about 5 billion dram, importing modern European equipment.
To facilitate the implementation of the mentioned investment program, within the framework of state support instruments, the company was provided a deferment of payment of customs duties and VAT exemption of imported equipment.
After project implementation the company plans to produce more than 5 billion AMD annual products, 50% of which will be exported.
With the construction site of a new plant of Jermuk Group Company, the number of workplaces will be increased about 15%.
