On December 15, RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan met the European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström in Brussels.
During the meeting, the Minister Suren Karayan stressed the importance of the negotiations on the EU framework agreement, which is carrying out in 3 negotiation directions; political, trade and investments, as well as sectoral cooperation.
- During last two days the fifth round of talks on trade and investment issues of Armenia-EU new framework agreement has allowed to record significant progress in negotiation process and make visible the end of negotiations in the near future, - said the Minister.
The EU Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström, in her turn, informed that the negotiations are being held in a constructive atmosphere. The Commissioner and the Minister acquired a number of agreements, which intend to implement the next round of negotiations.
Negotiating Armenia-EU new framework agreement will move Armenia-EU relations to another qualitative level and reflect the volume and depth of bilateral relations, as well as establish new benchmarks for mutually beneficial cooperation.
At the end of the meeting Minister Karayan invited the EU Commissioner to visit Armenia.
