On January 11, RA Deputy Minister of economic development and investments Emil Tarasyan received Abbas Ghorbani, the responsible on economic issues of Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia
During the meeting were discussed issues related to establishment of "Halal" food office in Yerevan and in regions to increase the export volume of Armenian products to Iran.
Deputy Minister Emil Tarasyan stressed the importance of the Armenian-Iranian relations and noted that there are more opportunities for developing cooperation between two countries.
He also noted that establishment of "Halal" food office in Armenia will give new impetus to increase the export volume of Armenian products from Armenia to Iran.
E. Tarasyan also highlighted the necessity of having certification bodies both in Armenia and Iran and mutual recognition of corresponding bodies, which can be a mutually beneficial process for both countries.
Abbas Ghorbani, in his turn, said, that the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia is interested in cooperation with Armenia and makes every effort to develop relations between two countries. He also underlined the importance of opening "Halal" food office in Armenia, noting that it will give an opportunity to increase export of Armenian products to Iran and other countries, as well as boost development of tourism sector.
Abbas Ghorbani added that the quality of Armenian products are very high and the Iranian side is also interested in increasing volume of goods exported from Armenia.
During the meeting the sides stressed the importance of mutual visits of the representatives of relevant institutions, which will allow to speed up the establishment of "Halal" office in Armenia , as well as process of mutual recognition of certification bodies.
During the meeting the sides also touched upon the cooperation between Armenia-Iran-EEU and establishment of free economic zone in Meghri.
