Chinese investors will be presented with Armenian investment projects

Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Armenia H.E. Mr. Tian Erlong.

The Minister discussed with Ambassador the Armenia's investment environment and favorable conditions for investors; the market of the EEU, the EU's GSP+ (Generalized Scheme of Preferences) provided to Armenia, GSP beneficiary status with the United States, Canada, Switzerland, Japan and Norway, as well as all the factors, that make Armenia an attractive investment environment .

Minister Suren Karayan informed the Ambassador about developed investment projects, which may be of interest to Chinese investors.

Ambassador Erlong noted that Armenia is an important economic partner for China. The Ambassador suggested deepening economic cooperation, particularly in investment sector, in which there is a potential and things to do.

The Ambassador said that the investment projects will be transferred to potential investors.

The Ambassador Erlong conveyed the invitation of the international forum to be held in Beijing entitled "One belt one way" to the Minister Karayan.

The Minister and the Ambassador exchanged views on participation of Chinese businessmen and investors in the free economic zone being established in the bordering zone with Iran, as well as prospects of establishing copper smelter.
