Armenia and Iran will establish offices of product conformity assessment bodies

The Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Emil Tarasyan from February 11 to 13 visited Iran. The aim of the meeting was to discuss issue of establishing offices of Iranian product conformity assessment bodies in Armenia with the Iranian side.

During the visit the meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran was held .

An agreement was reached to open "Halal" offices in Armenia. The Iranian side expressed its readiness to open these offices in March of this year (before the national Novruz holiday).

An agreement has been reached on signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of conformity assessment of products and services, mutually creating opportunities to provide with certificates of conformity to business entities.

Thus, the certification process of the Armenian products will be organized in Iran and the certification process of the Iranian products will be organized in Armenia.

In order to achieve this goal laboratory capacities will be created in Armenia.
