On February 22 Minister Suren Karayan met Karine Minasyan, the Member of the EEC Board, Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Information Support, Information and Communication Technologies and Khazhak Karayan, Director of the IT Department to discuss strategic directions of the Eurasian Economic Union's digital agenda.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Emil Tarasyan and Deputy Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of RA Arman Khachaturian.
The representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of RA, State Revenue Committee, State Food Security Service by the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as other interested institutions also attended the meeting.
Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan noted in his speech,- " We are pleased to welcome you to discuss this important topic . Digital economy is a basis for our long-term development".
According to Karine Minasyan Armenia has leading positions in the sector of development of information technologies and there is a serious potential to promote the digital economy.
The Member-States of the Eurasian Economic Union are planning to carry out the following tasks in a single digital space.
• Development of a normative-legal base for the digital economy in the member states
• Creation of public-private partnership in the digital economy
• Promotion and support to digital initiatives and programs
• Promotion of best practice in the field of digital economy. Ensuring dialogue between all interested citizens and organizations of the member states
During the meeting were discussed issued related to the activities, which will be carried out by Armenia within context of strategic directions of the Eurasian Economic Union's digital agenda.
