Scientific and technical cooperation will launch between Armenia and company Philip Morris International

The Minister Suren Karayan received the representatives of Philip Morris International (PMI) to discuss further cooperation yesterday. On March 2, a Memoradum of cooperation has been signed between the Ministry of Economic Development of Armenia and Philip Morris International through which the parties aim at establishing a Research and Development Hub for Innovation. The center will operate in two directions - Research, Innovation and Education Programs.

By this Memorandum, the parties will join efforts to support the creation of rapid prototypes within the framework of R&D center.

The representatives of the company mention that Armenia has a wide experience in international cooperation to establish innovative and research centers. Intellectual and human potential in the field of science has become one of the strongest assets of Armenia. Now more than ever R&D (research and development), as well as science and technology are extremely important for the promotion and development of the country.

PMI is deeply interested in establishing long-term cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Armenia and public sector.

The vision is to establish and implement inter-sectoral partnerships with local companies and research centers to carry out innovations in fields of mutual interest. The latters include, but are not limited by biomedicine, engineering, software availability, electronics, heated and i-fluid sensors and chemistry.
