On March 13, the first awareness raising seminar for entrepreneurs on "Halal" certification process was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA. The seminar was organized jointly with "Halal" office.

The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Emil Tarasyan, Director at “Halal” office Abdul Huseyin Fahari, as well as representatives from spheres of industry, food, tourism, services.

In his speech Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Emil Tarasyan said that one of the actions aimed at supporting the access of local products and services to other countries, in particular Islamic countries was the opening of "Halal" office in Yerevan.

He also added that through the Office the entrepreneurs can get consultation. The "Halal" office will provide certification to economic entities that produce goods in compliance of halal principles and practices in the food and beverages industry.

Director at “Halal” office Abdul Huseyin Fahari expressed gratitude to the participants of the event and said that the entrepreneurs have already applied for getting "Halal" certification.

Abdul Huseyin Fahari presented "The economic role of Halal products", detailing what is Halal, what kind of standards for the products to enter the Islamic market.

After the presentation Mr. Fahari answered the questions of the entrepreneurs.
