The first session of the Armenian-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific and technical cooperation was held in Hanoi.
On March 15, the delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Economic Development an Investments of RA Hovhannes Azizyan visited to Hanoi. The delegation comprises representatives of Ministry of Agriculture of RA, Ministry of Culture of RA, Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RA, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of RA.
The co-chairman from the Armenian side of the intergovernmental commission was Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Hovhannes Azizyan and from the Vietnamese side Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of Vietnam Hoang Quoc Vuong.
During the meeting were discussed issues on trade and economy, agriculture, transport, culture and tourism between two countries, as well as wide range of issues of mutual interest in the fields of development of cooperation.
After discussions the protocol of the session was signed and directions of further development of the cooperation were defined by sectors.
In the framework of his visit to Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Hovhannes Azizyan had a private meeting with Hoang Quoc Vuong. During the meeting were discussed the possibilities of exporting of Armenian products. In particular, the parties discussed the export of the Armenian alcoholic beverages. The issues on the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam were also discussed.
The sides reached an agreement to hold discussions in April, aiming to sign appropriate protocol on amendments to the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam.
An agreement on Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was signed on 8 June, 2012 and the Armenian-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific and technical cooperation was established to strengthen and diversify economic relations between two countries in areas of mutual interest , as well as to coordinate cooperation in trade-economic and scientific-technical spheres.
