On May 5, a discussion on the topic of “Issues, proposals and ideas of introduction of IT solutions in the sector of tourism” was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA.

The discussion was organized by the initiative of the State Tourism Committee and the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE).

Zarmine Zeytuntsian, Chairperson of the State Tourism Committee, attached importance to the extensive use of IT in the sector of tourism. She said the IT use enables tourists to have some information before visiting the country, and already by arriving in Armenia a tourist will be able to use the IT opportunities to organize his/her vacation and travel more effectively.

She expressed confidence that the IT specialists in Armenia have perfect ideas which can be used.

During the meeting, several companies have presented ready tourism applications.

During the discussion it is planned to form the agenda on these issues, which will be presented during separate thematic working meeting within framework of DigiTech business forum, which will be organized by UITE.
