On May 31, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan received the delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran Mojtaba Khosrowtaj.

Mojtaba Khosrowtaj expressed gratitude for the invitation and said, “We stress the importance of cooperation with the Republic of Armenia and invite you to Iran.”

Greeting the guests, the Minister mentioned that political dialogue between Armenia and Iran is at a high level, bilateral economic ties are being developed, but the volume of trade turnover between two countries is not satisfactory and it is important to takes measures to expand and deepen cooperation.

The Armenian side offered to develop active cooperation between the Armenian and Iranian import-export companies, and establish a joint import-export company. According to the Minister, it will contribute to the export of Armenian products to Iran and vice versa.

Suren Karayan spoke about Syunik free economic zone, mentioning that the businessmen from Iran will have the opportunity to use tax and customs privileges, GSP and GSP+ privileges, enter the EAEU market, etc.

Later, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan and the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran Mojtaba Khosrowtaj visited ICE HOUSE company. The founder of the company Arman Hovsepyan represented the activity of the logistic company, mentioned that another logistic center has been established in Moscow. Arman Hovsepyan added that they plan to establish one more center in Syunik free economic zone.

The prospects of possible cooperation with Iranian companies have been discussed.
