On June 5, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan and the CEO of “Janfida Agri Holding” CJSC Norayr Aghayan signed a memorandum. The aim of the memorandum is to export agricultural products and other Armenian products to the Middle East, as well as to represent and promote the brand “Armenian product”.
Minister Karayan represented tools of support of the Ministry to increase export. “The export can be carried out using export insurance provided by the Government. We will also give the chance to the companies and farmers who supply agricultural products to use pre-export insurance,” said Suren Karayan. An agreement has been reached to hold discussions with the logistic and transport companies that can carry out transportation to Gulf countries with minimum value. The representatives of “Janfida Agri Holding” CJSC said that they plan to export at least 500-600 tons of agricultural products in 2017 to the markets of the Gulf states.
The CEO of “Janfida Agri Holding” CJSC Norayr Aghayan said that there are good opportunities for high quality local agricultural products to be realized in the UAE market. “We are confident that by this agreement we can find the complete solution of the existing problems, thus providing access to new markets for local producers. The UAE consumers are particularly interested in asparagus, apricot, plum, peach, cherry, melon, watermelon, sweet corn, etc,” mentioned Norayr Aghayan.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the issues on exported food packaging.
