On June 7, meeting with the representatives of adventure tourism sector took place at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments. The meeting was run by the Chairperson of the State Committee of Tourism of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA Zarmine Zeitountsian.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Nature Protection of RA Khachik Hakobyan and the Head of the Department of Local Self – Government of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development of RA Ashot Giloyan.

Issues on adventure tourism and their possible solutions, as well as safety of tourists have been discussed during the meeting. The parties discussed issues on advertising Armenia and the Armenian adventure tourism in foreign tourism markets.

“Armenia has a great potential for adventure tourism development. There are several problems in this sector that must be solved. We plan to establish a working group that will find solutions to the problems and the legal issues,” mentioned Zarmine Zeitountsian.

By the suggestion of the Deputy Minister of Nature Protection of RA Khachik Hakobyan it was decided to form a relevant document on the inventory of adventure tourism routes.

Adventure tourism is the fastest growing form of tourism in the world.
