Today, the Government of RA approved the business environment improvement action plan 2017 developed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA.
The Doing Business project of the World Bank provides objective measures of business regulations and their enforcement across 190 economies and selected cities at the subnational and regional level on the following sectors: starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts and resolving insolvency.
According to the report ‘Doing Business 2017 Equal Opportunity for all’, Armenia improved its positions by 5 points and is ranked 38 within the list of 190 countries, compared to previous year where the country was ranked the 43rd. A progress has been achieved in the indicators "Getting Credit" (22 points), "Enforcing Contracts " (7 points) and "Getting Electricity " (9 points).
The content of doing business ranking is wide providing reforms in all assessed areas. The Ministry of Economic Development and Investments aims to ensure continuity of reforms taking into consideration the best international practices and to ensure further progress of the Republic of Armenia.
