Armenian textile companies will cooperate with the French “Bétrancourt” company

The Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan received the representatives of French “Bétrancourt” company. “Bétrancourt” is a French company specializing in manufacturing personal protective clothing and is well-known with the trademarks ALLMER, GUY LEROY, NORTHMEN. The French company is planning to launch activity in Armenia and cooperate with the Armenian light industry operators.

Earlier two representatives of “Bétrancourt” Michael Knockaert and Nicola Crombiete with the Head of the Department of Sectoral Economic Policy of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA Armen Yeganyan visited seven factories and companies in Vanadzor and Gyumri to discuss the opportunities of cooperation.

During the meeting, Minister Karayan discussed the results of the meeting. Michael Knockaert told the Minister that very soon cooperation will launch with two Armenian companies, with test production. The French businessmen said that large investments and long term cooperation with another textile company is possible.

“We stress the importance of the light industry sector. We support the businessmen to expand their activities and create new workplaces. We use support tools and the opportunities to increase them. I want to stress one more time that you have our full support and will not meet any obstacles in Armenia,” said the Minister Suren Karayan.

At the end of the meeting the representative of “Bétrancourt” company Michael Knockaert said, “Thank you for organizing the visit and hospitality. Armenia has a good history in light industry, we would like to develop it and improve Armenian production.
