The third session of Armenia-Tajikistan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation has launched

On June 13, the third session of Armenia-Tajikistan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation took place.

The Co-Chairmen of the session were the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan from the Armenian side and the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Nematullo Khikmatullozoda from Tajikistan. The Ministers delivered their welcoming speeches during the opening ceremony.

Issues on legal-contractual field development between Armenia and Tajikistan, as well as cooperation development in the fields of industry, entrepreneurship, small and medium-sized enterprises, energy, agriculture, healthcare, science and education, culture, tourism, transport, communications and telecommunications were included in the agenda. Information has been exchanged on implementing joint projects in the free economic zones of both countries.

The Armenian side represented the advantages of doing business in Armenia, as well as the preferential trade regimes (GSP, GSP+) the use of which may seriously promote the bilateral cooperation, import and export between Armenia and Tajikistan. The importance of business forum between two countries has been stressed. The sides mentioned that there are great opportunities for carrying out joint activities in the field of industry, particularly in carpet weaving, light industry, jewelry, innovations as well as glass containers and construction glass production.

At the end of the session the protocol of the third session of Armenia-Tajikistan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation has been signed. The directions and steps for future cooperation were set in it.
