On June 14, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Emil Tarasyan and the Vice-President of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) Maleki Maghadam signed a memorandum on cooperation in Tehran.
The Memorandum will develop cooperation between the two bodies in the following areas: exchange of information on the legal framework of food and non-alcoholic beverage sector, training and audit regarding control on products certified as “halal”, exchange of information on the markets of the both countries, joint projects implementation, product accreditation procedures, etc.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Emil Tarasyan stressed that “halal” will be useful for both tourists and entrepreneurs. The Iranian side offered to discuss the possibility of using “halal” on non-food products as well.
The meeting was attended by the president of ISIRI N. Piruzbakht, the representative of the supreme leader of Iran Ayatollah Alemi and representatives of other institutions.
During the meeting Emil Tarasyan mentioned that the Republic of Armenia is ready to develop cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all the sectors of economy and that “halal” is another opportunity to increase mutual trade and tourism flows.
Emil Tarasyan had a meeting at Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council. Issues of mutual interest have been discussed.
