On July 4, a press conference on “Ecotourism festival 2017” took place. The speakers of the press conference were the First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA Mekhak Apresyan, the President of “Association of Young Biologists” NGO Sargis Aghayan and the President of “Jermuk Development Center” NGO Vazgen Galstyan.

The festival will take place for the second time, on July 8-9 in Artavan village, Vayots Dzor.

The First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA Mekhak Apresyan mentioned that the festivals are quite popular and solve a number of problems. “The festivals contribute to the increase of Armenian tourism products. Experience shows that tourists come to Armenia to participate in special festivals, and tour companies are already selling packages, which include various festivals.”

The President of “Jermuk Development Center” NGO Vazgen Galstyan informed that various events are planned to take place during the ecotourism festival, including exhibition-sale of ecological tourism services and agricultural products, hiking tours, botanical campaign, horseback riding and a number of other events.
