The Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan, the Governor of Syunik Region Vahe Hakobyan, Executive Director of Tourism Development Foundation of Armenia Ara Khzmalyan got acquainted with tourism potential and investment programs in Syunik. The working group visited Khndzoresk, got acquainted with the current state of the historical monument, discussed issues on its improvement and tourism prospects.

Issues on the formation of more favorable investment environment, as well as possible ways of state support to the private sector have been discussed.

The working group headed by Suren Karayan also visited Goris hotel. The Minister discussed with the investor the course of construction works, stages of the investment program. The owner of Goris hotel Senik Julhakyan mentioned that large-scale investments have already been implemented. The hotel will receive more than 250 guests after the renovation. The hotel also plans to cooperate with Goris State University in order to train tourists. It should be noted that Goris has been proclaimed in as a Cultural Capital of the CIS Member States of 2018.

The Minister visited Meghri customs point, examined information services provided to the Iranian tourists, got acquainted with their requirements, discussed the issues and prospects of more efficient coordination of tourism flows.
