On July 19, the press conference of the Chairperson of the State Committee for Tourism Zarmine Zeitountsian, First Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee for Tourism Mekhak Apresyan and the Executive Director of Tourism Development Foundation of Armenia Ara Khzmalyan took place.

The Chairperson of the State Committee for Tourism Zarmine Zeytuntsyan mentioned that according to the data from the border crossing points, the total number of visits to Armenia in the first six months of 2017 was 1.350.791.

First Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee for Tourism Mekhak Apresyan represented the institutional reforms section of the Committee and informed that jointly with UNWTO and BSEC, the Armenian side will develop the "Wine tourism" tourism outcome strategy and marketing policy within the Silk Road.

The Executive Director of Tourism Development Foundation of Armenia Ara Khzmalyan represented the functions of the Foundation and mentioned that the Foundation will focus on the issues of effective marketing and tourism development.

During the press conference, the tourism development program of 2017, target markets, institutional reforms, marketing activities and activity to be implemented have been represented.
