Trade representative of Armenia Hrant Abadzhyan held a meeting with representatives of more than 40 Chinese companies in Beijing on August 16, during which he presented the investment potential of the republic.

During the meeting the Chinese investors were presented with the business environment in Armenia, the investment attractiveness of the country, the available potential and opportunities. He also reported on infrastructure projects, road construction programs, development of the mining industry, industry, agriculture and energy.

In particular, the Chinese investors are presented projects of construction of the highway "North-South", the railway Iran-Armenia, objects of generation from renewable energy sources. Attention of the participants of the meeting was also drawn to the possibilities of implementing programs in such areas as fish farming and hothouse economy, construction of a copper smelting plant and a number of other projects in the mining industry. He also informed about the opening opportunities of the free economic zone in Meghri on the border with Iran.

Referring to the words of the sales representative in China, notes that the interest of investors from the Middle Kingdom to the economy of Armenia is significant. They show particular interest in infrastructure projects and the mining industry.
