National Day of Armenia has been celebrated at the exhibition “Astana EXPO-2017”

On August 16, the National Day of Armenia has been celebrated at the exhibition “Astana EXPO-2017”. The events dedicated to the National Day of Armenia and the Armenian Pavilion were of a great interest among the visitors of the exhibition.

The Chairperson of the State Committee for Tourism of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA Zarmine Zeitountsian, Executive Director of the Tourism Development Foundation of Armenia Ara Khzmalyan and Deputy Attorney of the Armenian pavilion Erik Grigoryan participated in the events. Representatives of tourism and Kazakh culture, high-ranking officials attended the event.

Deputy Minister of Investments and Development of Kazakhstan Yerlan Khairov delivered welcoming speech and spoke about literary and artistic heritage of Armenia, the Armenian cuisine, humor, Armenian musical instrument duduk that admires with its sounds. The Deputy Minister added, “The existence of a visa-free regime between our countries, as well as direct flights between Kazakhstan's cities and the Yerevan allow citizens to get acquainted with the culture of the two countries. The international exhibition Astana EXPO-2017 is a unique opportunity for presenting innovative solutions in the energy sector. For Kazakhstan and for Armenia, alternative energy is an important direction for the development of the country and Armenia is actively involved in the process of studying and using alternative energy.”

Tourism potential of Armenia was also represented. The Chairperson of the State Committee for Tourism of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA Zarmine Zeitountsian delivered speech and stressed the tourism attractiveness of Armenia.

“At present, cooperation in tourism sector between Armenia and Kazakhstan is becoming more and more important. Cooperation gets new forms and moves to new trans-border and interregional markets. Tourism is the best way to get acquainted with the country's culture and traditions and is the basis for educating the younger generation in the spirit of humanity. Armenia has great potential for tourism development: hospitality, comfort, security, historical and cultural values - these are the cornerstones of Armenia's tourism development,” mentioned Zarmine Zeitountsian suggesting to develop joint tourism routes, noting that the transformation of transboundary tourism destinations will give a new impetus to cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the National Day of Armenia, a film about the Armenian tourism product, tour programs, tourism events, schedule of events for 2017 have also been represented. The participants were given information materials, as well as gifts stamped “Made in Armenia”.

Armenian music by “MiqayelVoskanyan & Friendsband” was also performed at the pavilion. Guests of the exhibition had the opportunity to taste Armenian cognac and wine.
