On August 27-31 Bee-Buyer international business platform takes place in Moscow, where Russian buyers get acquainted with the Armenian brand “5900 BC” which has been created by UNIDO project “Improving Competitiveness of Export-Oriented Industries in Armenia through Modernization and Market Access”.

From August 30 to September 2, “Expocentre” center of Moscow hosts the largest CPM fashion show in Eastern Europe, with 27 participating countries presenting over 1000 collections. The “5900 BC” Armenian fashion brand participates in this event for the fifth time, introducing its sixth, Spring/Summer 2018 collection. The overwhelming majority of more than 22,000 visitors are professionals representing fashionable clothing production and sales. The brand for the first time also presents a collection of stylish shoes. The new Spring/Summer 2018 collection will be available for three days during fashion shows organized within the framework of the exhibition. 16 beneficiary companies of the program representing Armenia's clothing and footwear industry are also participating in the exhibition.

The Armenian brand “5900 BC” is the result of the joint creative work of Armenian specialists and Italian experts involved in clothing and footwear of UNIDO project “Improving Competitiveness of Export-Oriented Industries in Armenia through Modernization and Market Access”.

The UNIDO technical cooperation project entitled “Improving Competitiveness of Export Oriented Industries in Armenia through Modernization and Market Access” was launched in September 2014. The Second phase of the project launched in 2017 with the memorandum signed by the UNIDO and the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan involving shoe production this time too.

The Trade Representative of the Republic of Armenia in the Russian Federation Karen Asoyan said, “Participation of around 16 Armenian producers in the largest exhibitions in Eastern Europe shows that the projects that are developed by the Government of Armenia and the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA give their real results. This is also evidenced by the study of statistical data. I can say with great pride that in 2016 and in the first half of 2017, the import of ready-made clothes to the Russian market has grown not several times, but dozens of times. And seeing this interest, I can say that the growth dynamics of our export volumes will continue successfully. We hope that by the end of the year we will see a considerable increase in the import of the Armenian light industry to the Russian market.”

Participation in the largest exhibitions in Eastern Europe, particularly in today's exhibition, involves around 16 producers and their next participation in projects that are developed in Armenia, specifically by the Government of Armenia and the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments.
