On September 12, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan received the delegation of headed by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Vladimír Bärtl to summarize the results of the Third Session of Armenian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
The Minister mentioned that although there is an obvious increase in Armenian-Czech economic relations, there is a great field to expand cooperation, the interest of Czech companies and businessmen to invest in Armenia is obvious.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Vladimír Bärtl said, “Negotiations on the Protocol were rather effective. We are expanding the current framework of cooperation and there are absolutely new areas for us. I am happy that we meet not as negotiating parties but as friends to find new ways of cooperation.”
Minister Karayan discussed the ccoperation opportunities in the fields of industry, tourism and energy with Vladimír Bärtl. Suren Karayan and Vladimír Bärtl highly appreciated the role of the Ambassadors of the two countries in the development of trade and economic relations.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Armenia Petr Mikyska mentioned that there are prerequisites for the launch of Yerevan-Prague direct flights. The Ambassador represented Yerevan “Green City” action plan developed by the Czech company.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Czech Republic Tigran Seiranian informed that together with his colleague they initiated a number of Armenian-Czech business forums, which have already given the first results. He also added that a business forum is expected to be held this October, with the participation of the President of the Czech Senate.
During the meeting, the sides also touched upon Suren Karayan’s forthcoming visit to the Czech Republic to discuss the possibility of attracting Czech investments to Armenia.
