The Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Republic of Armenia Mohammed Haj Ibrahim. The Minister congratulated the Ambassador and wished him good luck in his activity.

Mohammed Haj Ibrahim mentioned that since Armenia's independence, close political ties have been established between Armenia and Syria, and now it is important to strengthen Armenian-Syrian economic ties.

The Minister discussed issues on joint investment attraction and trade promotion with the Ambassador.

During the meeting the parties touched upon the possible cooperation in tourism sector.

Minister Suren Karayan stressed that he is ready to direct efforts and to support the realization of the Armenian-Syrian economic potential.

Suren Karayan discussed with Mohammed Haj Ibrahim his possible future visit to Syria to hold the Session of Armenian-Syrian Intergovernmental Economic Commission.
