On September 28, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan and the Minister of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kassymbek signed the protocol of the 7th session of the Armenian-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA.
The Co-Chairmen also had a private conversation during which they discussed the prospects of cooperation, stressing the need to promote cooperation in favorable areas for trade growth.
The Ministers noted with satisfaction that after the previous session a certain activity has been done by the commission for the development of trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan.
The readiness of both sides to continue the process of development of trade and economic cooperation, including the exchange of information on export-oriented products and export markets of the two countries is stated in the protocol.
The Armenian side informed about preferential trade regimes GSP+ provided by the European Union and GSP provided by the USA, Canada, Japan, Norway and Switzerland to Armenia, which can significantly contribute to the increase of the Armenian-Kazakh commodity turnover and the expansion of the export-import range.
An arrangement has been reached to study the organizational issues of “Armenia-Jewelry House” trade show booths in Astana and Almaty and support the participation of Armenian and Kazakh companies at exhibitions and fairs held in both countries.
The next session of the Armenian-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission is scheduled for 2018 in Astana.
