Memorandum aimed at promoting Armenian-Egyptian investments

The Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan and the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sahar Nasr signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in investment sector.

During the two ministers' meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of the memorandum and noted that it is necessary to take the right and targeted steps to implement it. “We will drive the first wheel to move forward,” said Minister of Investment and International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sahar Nasr.

Minister Karayan offered to develop joint investment projects, combining the advantages and privileged markets of both countries.

During the meeting the importance of the cooperation between the free economic zones of Egypt and Armenia has been stressed. Particularly, the prospects of cooperation will be discussed in detail with the Suez Free Economic Zone representatives.

According to Minister Karayan, there is a need to support cooperation of businessmen of the two countries, especially in the sphere of agriculture, which will lead to the growth of trade turnover. Sahara Nasr has offered to organize regular visits among business circles.

The sides also touched upon the cooperation between logistic companies.

The two Ministers reaffirmed their readiness to promote economic cooperation between Armenia and Egypt through regular contacts and dialogue.
