On October 19-21, the Delegation headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan visited Minsk, Belarus to participate in the 13th session of the Armenian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
The Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan and the Minister of Agriculture of RA Ignati Arakelyan had a meeting with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Zinovskiy.
During the meeting, the sides underlined that the trade turnover between Armenia and Belarus does not correspond to the real potential of two countries. Particular attention was paid to cooperation with third countries within the framework of the EAEU and export to third countries. The parties also discussed possibilities of cooperation within the free economic zone of Meghri.
During the meeting with the Minister of Industry of Belarus Vitaly Vovk, issues on transport and agricultural machinery produced in Belarus and imported to Armenia, as well as their adaptation to the Armenian conditions have been discussed.
The issue of organizing an Armenian-Belarusian business forum was also on the agenda of the delegations, which will boost bilateral economic relations.
The Minister Karayan and Minister Arakelyan also had a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus Leonid Zayats to discuss cooperation between the two countries in cattle breeding.
