The Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan received the First Deputy Minister of Economy of Uzbekistan Sanatul Bekenov.
Minister Karayan greeted Sanatul Bekenov and mentioned in the context of economic relations there is a huge unrealized potential and it is necessary to take actions in this direction.
First Deputy Minister of Economy of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the Minister for warm reception and agreed that the two friendly nations have great opportunities to develop economic ties.
The Minister Karayan discussed with Sanatul Bekenov the prospects of establishing joint production cooperatives, as well as export opportunities to the third countries.
The sides touched upon the agreements reached during the meeting on November 3 between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Karen Karapetyan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and the implementation process of them.
The parties discussed cooperation opportunities in the light industry, agriculture and a number of other areas.
The Uzbek side noted that the export-oriented policy of Armenia can serve as a good example and stressed the importance of exchange of experience in various spheres.
During the meeting the possibilities of cooperation in the free economic zone “Meghri” were also presented.
