On December 12, the first sitting of the Public Council under the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA took place.

Apart from the board members, the sitting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Hovhannes Azizyan, Head of the Department of Sectoral Economic Policy Armen Yeganyan, Head of the Inspection Body for Market Surveillance Levon Khalikyan, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Mekhak Apresyan.

Greeting the participants of the sitting, the Chairman of the Public Council, Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan expressed gratitude to the members of the Council for cooperation with the Ministry and for their wish to participate in the solution of economic problems of Armenia. The Minister stressed importance of the opinion of NGOs and private organizations on the Ministry's initiatives and assured that their suggestions and remarks will be taken into account in decision making process. Public Council members present expectations from cooperation.

The Deputy Minister Hovhannes Azizyan represented the activity implemented by the Ministry during 2017, the main achievements, priorities and planned events for 2018.

Issues related to legislative changes related to the competences under the Ministry, problems of creating a unified brand for Armenian goods, tourism development, consumer protection, market surveillance authority, inspection reforms and other topics were discussed during the session.
