The Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan received the Head of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (Rosstandard) of the Russian Federation
Alexey Abramov.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Emil Tarasyan and the Director of the National Institute of Standards Yenok Azaryan.
Suren Karayan expressed satisfaction with the close cooperation between the Armenian and Russian structures, at the same time pointing out that he expects intensive activity to ensure progress in formulating common principles in the areas of standardization, metrology and technical regulation in the possible short period to eliminate the obstacles in the movement of goods in the EAEU market.
“The formation of a common market is very important for our countries, and standards and technical regulation are key components of free movement of goods. The activity implemented in this direction is in the spotlight of me and my colleague, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov,” said the Minister Karayan.

Alexey Abramov stated that the development and deepening of bilateral trade relations largely depend on the cooperation of quality infrastructure institutes and stressed that a good tradition of partnership with Armenian partners could be an example for both EAEU and other CIS member states.
The Russian Federation has initiated the establishment of the Council of Heads of National Standardization bodies of the EAEU 5 countries, which should gradually secure and propose mechanisms of standardization development.
The parties agreed to discuss bilateral cooperation issues during mutual visits and to support each other's new initiatives.
