On December 25, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan met the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov in Moscow.
During the meeting, Suren Karayan and Denis Manturov discussed the suggestions and questions of the two parties on current bilateral projects related to industrial cooperation and investment in Armenia's industry, particularly in the field of electrical engineering and jewelry.
Minister Karayan suggested Denis Manthurov to expand the representation of Russian industrial enterprises in the free economic zones of Armenia. In response, Denis Mantorov said that Russian corporations are interested in launching activity in the free economic zones in Armenia.
Denis Manturov stressed the importance of the decisions taken at the International Conference on Eurasian Partnership,
The parties stressed with satisfaction the growth of trade and economic indicators of the two countries during 2017.
The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov also discussed issues related to activation of the Armenian-Russian joint investment fund with Suren Karayan. The ministers gave instructions to the relevant subdivisions.
Minister Karayan suggested to set up a joint working group on cooperation in industry sector. The sides agreed to hold the first meeting of the group in early 2018. The working group will examine prospects for joint export and specific industrial projects to the third countries.
