On January 19, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Hovhannes Azizyan received the delegation headed by the Director of Central Asia and the Caucasus Division of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Hajime Taniguchi.
Greeting the guests, Hovhannes Azizyan stressed the importance of the benefits and support provided by the JICA to the Armenian SMEs and added that despite the fact that the export volumes of the Armenian goods has increased, there is still unrealized potential in this direction.
Hovhannes Azizyan represented the investment attractiveness of Armenia, mechanisms and instruments of public-private partnership, the advantages of operating in “Meghri” FEZ, as well as Pan-Armenian Investment Fund projects.
During the meeting, the sides underlined the importance of deepening cooperation in the tourism sector as an important impulse for cooperation between the two countries.
The Director of Central Asia and the Caucasus Division of the Japan International Cooperation Agency Hajime Taniguchi noted with satisfaction that joint programs of JICA with Armenia have been successfully implemented and represented the agency's regional policy programs.
The issue of representation of Japanese companies in the Armenian market and the activity carried out in this direction was also discussed with the Japanese side.
