On March 7, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan received the Head of Space Science and Innovative Applications of Joint Institute for VLBI ERIC, Senior Astronomer, Professor Leonid Gurvits. The Minister discussed with the Professor the reconstruction and development of radio-optical telescope ROT-54/2.6, located at Aragats Scientific Center of National Institute of Metrology and perspectives of cooperation with Armenia in the field of radio-astronomy.

Leonid Gurvits has been invited to Armenia by “Jurisdiction Armenia” Foundation to inspect the current state of the Herouni ROT-54/2.6 facility and of the site, and to assist to achieve operational compatibility of the facility with the EVN (European VLBI Network).
