The Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Artsvik Minasyan received the delegation headed by the Country Manager of the World Bank for Armenia Sylvie Bossoutrot. Issues on the cooperation between the World Bank and the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia, as well as issues on the future program of the Government have been discussed.
Minister Minasyan touched upon the activity carried out by the Ministry in cooperation with the World Bank and the state of the economy under new political conditions. The Minister assured that efforts and energy will not be saved for implementation of economic reforms.
The Minister touched upon the improvement of the investment climate in Armenia and creation of new opportunities for investments, where the rules of the game will be the same for all. The willingness of many individuals and organizations to invest in Armenia has been stressed.
Artsvik Minasyan touched upon the World Bank’s programs implemented with the Ministry. Ideas have been exchanged on export promotion, public-private partnership, economic competition and anti-monopoly policy, SME development, etc.
Sylvie Bossoutrot congratulated the Minister on his appointment and expressed gratitude for the detailed presentation of the programs.
Members of the WB delegation presented to the Minister the coordinated assessment report “Armenia in the Future: integration, competition, prosperity” which is a complete economic analysis and can serve as a guide to the cooperation process with the World Bank.
During the meeting an arrangement has been reached on meetings with the upcoming sectoral expert missions.
At the end of the meeting, the sides once again expressed readiness for joint activity and expansion of cooperation.
