On May 21, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Artsvik Minasyan received the representatives of the the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group.
Issues on the three-year investment climate reform program implemented by IFC in Armenia have been discussed during the meeting.
Minister Minasyan presented three main directions: opportunities of cooperation expansion in the field of investment policy, agro and tourism, noting that in the conditions of new political reality all the activity will be implemented with new enthusiasm and energy. The Minister emphasized the need for the development of professional skills in the development of business plans which will enable to transform the economic potential into specific programs. In this context, the necessity of the trainers' program, the assessment of the capacity of the state bodies, the importance of inter-agency cooperation, as well as the monitoring of the issues for the best economic solutions has been mentioned.
The sides exchanged views on legislative regulation of investment promotion, raising competition in the agro-sphere, including export promotion, discovery of new markets, tourism attractiveness of Armenia, as well as cooperation with the Armenian Tourism Development Foundation and Business Armenia Foundation.
The representatives of IFC informed about the possibility of expanding cooperation, in response to which the Minister assured that the Ministry is ready to take steps, which will give a new breath to the joint activity.
