On May 23, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Artsvik Minasyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Armenia Jonathan Lacôte.

Issues on the development of trade and economic ties between the two countries have been discussed during the meeting.

Minister Minasyan mentioned the importance of French companies operating in Armenia and the possibility of new large-scale investments, presenting to the Ambassador favorable conditions for expanding cooperation, expressing readiness to engage in an open and objective discussion on all the problematic issues.

Congratulating Artsvik Minasyan on his appointment, the Ambassador highlighted the interest of French businessmen towards Armenia in a new reality, touched upon the existence of good impetus for economic activity and investments, noting that opening of the French Development Agency (AFD) office to Armenia can play an important role.

The Minister welcomed the initiative noting that it will really give a new impetus to the development of bilateral economic relations.

During the meeting, a number of issues related to the possibility of considering Armenia as a bridge between Iran and other EAEU member countries have been discussed. Once again expressing willingness to expand cooperation, the parties have reached an arrangement on the upcoming meeting, as well as on the visits of companies.
