On June 15, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Artsvik Minasyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia Richard Mills.

The meeting was attended by the Charge d ’Affaires of the USA to Armenia Rafik Mansour, Economic and Commercial officer of the US Embassy in Armenia Rafael Sambu, Deputy Ministers of Economic Development and Investments of RA Avag Avanesyan and Albert Babayan, other officials.

Minister Minasyan welcomed the Ambassador, stressed the importance of working together in an extremely important period and briefly represented the process of cooperation with the American side.

“We highly appreciate our friendship with you and your support to our Ministry,” said Artsvik Minasyan.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia Richard Mills expressed gratitude for the meeting and mentioned, “Congratulations on your appointment. I look forward to working together through the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement, or TIFA, to boost trade and investment between our two nations. This is a top priority for our bilateral relations.”

During the meeting the sides touched upon the reforms carried out by the Ministry, anti-corruption, anti-monopoly policy, investment climate and legislative amendments in this direction.

The ambassador expressed his satisfaction for the planned reforms, noting that American investors are interested in Armenia.

The parties also exchanged views on energy, tourism, consultation and other issues. At the end of the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their readiness to expand cooperation and joint activity.
